Joel Abrao won the Pool Design 2014 Personality Award for his contribution and development of Tatuapé District and over 400 projects around Sao Paulo. During an exclusive interview with Pool Design Yearbook, the winning architect of the best residential project in the Americas in 2013, recalls important moments in his career, such as when he worked with set design at SBT, and friendship with the show host and presentator Silvio Santos. Reference in national and international architecture, Joel Abrão designed over 400 buildings in the city of São Paulo; including 130 in Tatuapé.
The architect Joel Abrão, C.E.O of JJ Abrão Architecture office, was granted the "International Property Awards" in the regional competition "Americas 2013-2014" category "High Rise Architecture Award", by the architectural design of the Residential Katherine. The award ceremony took place on December 6th , in the Grosvenor Hotel in London, during the "International Property Show", which includes the presentation of the "Americas Awards." The Residential Katherine, located in rua Cândido Lacerda, 321, on Jardim Analia Franco in Sao Paulo, was designed to imprint in its features and contours the poetry of good architecture. The work of Joel Abrão is among the forty-eight most significant architecture offices in Brazil. The details of these projects are in this book, released in 2011 by the Brazilian Association of Architecture Firms – AsBEA; a major record importance and a tribute to the architects who design in detail our cities, parks, gardens, buildings and environments.
The Book "Fachadas" shows the expertise and technical capacity in 72 projects of 27 associate offices, such as Carlos Bratke, Botti Rubin, Roger Batagliesi, Aflalo & Gasperini and JJ Abrão.
Launched in 2012, the publication's mission is to illustrate national production making it accessible to different audiences, and promote Brazilian architecture and its diversity against an increasingly competitive international market.
Also released in 2012 the book "Nao Edificados" features 79 projects sketches not built, that highlight the source of inspiration and the differential in each of them.

The Construction Company Porte and architects Joel Abram, from JJ Abram, and Siegbert Zanettini represented very well the East Zone V Grand Prix of Corporative Architecture, the most important award of the country in the sector. The event took place during the 12th Office Solution ArquiShow Facility Show, a fair of products and services for architecture, decoration, building and interiors, at Bienial pavilion inside Ibirapuera Park. The Construction Company Porte held a partnership with the professional Joel Abrão, from JJ Abram, the project of Saint Claire building, at Rua Professor João de Oliveira Torres at theAnalia Franco Garden, which won the category "Residential Project".
With an impressive and noble neoclassical style, he drew the attention of the expert jury, who had pre-selected 264 among 1338 entries, being three of them also written by Abram. "It's a dream receiving this outstanding award," said the architect Joel, with the trophy in hand. He is the author of 380 projects in 23-year career, 70 of them only in Tatuapé. Working the for Silvio Santos Group, including the Anhanguera Complex, he says that its main feature is the facade work, the quality and function of the projects, he also pointed out the old partnership with the Porte.
"In any project, the great supporter is the client, it is he who gives the limits," he said. Igor Melro, commercial manager of the Porte, believes that working together is essential to success, and highlights the importance of the project. "It becomes a reference because it is unique in the area," says Melro, which calculates the amount of 7.5 billion reais for the square meter of the work.
The magazine Wish Life published in 2007 brought a story about the building Château Pozelli, whose design was authored by the architect Joel Abrão. It is a luxurious building, which offers its residents extreme comfort and well-being.
Its architecture exposes the French neoclassical style, but at the same time fits the modern standards of high society. Endorsed by a selective and demanding public, its architecture offers a unique way of living with style, without neglecting quality and sophistication. Published in February / March 2006, Magazine Tatuape brought an almost biographical article of the architect Joel Abrão, written by the journalist Fabiana Nascimento. The bimonthly publication is targeted to the public resident of district of Tatuapé, in São Paulo, and nearby areas.
Joel has several projects around the Tatuapé and he was chosen to illustrate the cover story for the magazine. He reacalls the long path he walked in his life after choosing architecture, and reveals it was accidental because he wanted to study Advertising and Marketing, until his first job, the relationship with the SBT and Silvio Santos and the realization of the dream, JJ Abrão Architecture and Decoration Ltda.
Published in 2005 and part of the collection Portfolio Brazil, JJ Carol publisher, the book begins with a beautiful testimony of the couple Abravanel (Silvio Santos and Iris), which is declared to be Joel Abrão hardcore fans. With Luis Mario Romero texts, Patricia da Cruz' edits and Luiz Machado's and Andrew Loretti's photos, the publication shows the main works of this renowned architect from buildings in prime locations until the large magnitude of the project which is the Anhanguera Complex of the network SBT television.
Joel expressed his love for architecture and makes arguments of his life and his work with the staff of his company J.J. Abrão Architecture and Decoration Ltda.
